so my cannon shit out on me.. figures. i guess, what should i expect from an ultra comact. well i have a new compact; hopefully it will last longer. im so excited. it is a panisonic with a lumix lens. it has 10x optical zoom!! 9.1 mp. i could have gotten one with 10 mp zoom for a bit less, but i wanted the ultra zoom. so far we have gotten along very well. it even has interal memory.

well photography had never been my main medium so i am unsure what you mean by gave up pics. i have always been more of a writter and a film maker actaully.
